It's well known that we here at GamerConnect love emergent gameplay. I am happy to report that Just Cause 2 (PS3) has plenty of that.
When you are fighting alongside a friendly rebel faction, a rebel (AI) can come up with some non-trivial behavior emerging from your own actions. Two examples that surprised me recently:
- Soon after I captured a military vehicle with a mounted gun, a friendly rebel got in the driver's seat and started driving us around with me still shooting the gun.
- I landed a helicopter on the outskirts of a city dominated by the military but surrounded by rebels. One of the rebels got my armed helicopter and started shooting rockets and bullets at the military. In a sense, the rebel stole my helicopter (!), but it was still helpful because it weakened the military's position inside the city.
Both of these were completely unscripted. The location of the vehicles, the rebels, and the military had been made "random" by my previous actions.
I am sure you have great examples of how the rebel AI can be surprisingly "smart" in Just Cause 2. Please add them to the comments.
