FIFA 10 (PS3)

I've finally managed to enjoy playing a soccer video game. By myself I never felt inclined to invest my time on that kind of game, but yesterday I had a friend providing instructions and encouragement and now I'm hooked! (He also provided the game itself.)

I knew I was in the minority before. Most gamers I know enjoy sports video games in general and the FIFA games in particular. Francisco, for example, has been a huge fan for years. He did have a bad experience with FIFA 07 for the XBox 360. I would like to know his thoughts on FIFA 10.

For me, a recent convert to the genre, it was great. You have a huge selection of teams and stadiums, the players move with realistic dynamics (example: the faster you run the harder it is to turn), there are many single and multiplayer gaming modes, and you can even pick between day and night and dry weather, rain, or snow. There is also the "manager" mode that I didn't even try, and much more.

I suppose now I should get a copy of the game of my own.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

I didn’t feel this game was as polished as previous titles by this company. The story is short and allows you to skip the most important scene in the game. When you are driving the snow mobiles, or in the truck, the length of the mission is just way to short. Seemed to me that either extending them, or having multiple instances would have been better. Overall the Single player was just OK for me.

The Co-Op, and /or single player Spec-Ops missions are a nice addition, I wish that they allowed more people, similar to the COD WAW Co-Op, which allows up to 4 players. COD MW2 only allows 2 players to work together, but the spec-ops missions are a lot of fun. You earn Stars for completing the missions on each difficulty, and after beating all missions on the hardest level you earn 69 stars, which actually feels like an accomplishment.

The Multiplayer has a couple different options, feels much faster to me, and still has the same ranking up, and weapon unlocking. To me this is addicting, and I am still working on my leveling up, and unlocking or completing perks, accolade, and achievements. The only downside to the multiplayer, is the option that they made to use their servers. Players get dropped out of a party, and everyone in the party must accept new invitations to get the party started again, to keep us together as a team. Overall, the Spec-ops and Multiplayer are great, and the single player is good.
